Our Covid Precautions In-Studio
We are lucky that by nature the act of photographing people is physically distanced. However, just like how taking a flight appears to be pretty safe, there are other steps along the way that could potentially increase contact. When flying that is transportation to the airport, lineups, washrooms, and other times when we're in close proximity to people, or sharing objects or touching surfaces. For our photoshoots, it is more related to some of the ways we do our jobs: attention to detail on hair, makeup, and outfits, carrying out our image reviews with our clients, etc. So I thought I'd put down in one place for future reference how we are going about making our shoots in studio safe, because It's important that you feel safe during your session.
- Real-Time Reality Check
- To continue allowing our clients to see their portraits mid-session, while keeping a safe distance from us and our computers, we've implemented a large external monitor.
- Subject Mirror
- To ensure we don't have to get too close to people to adjust hair or outfits on set, we've set up a full-length mirror so they can see themselves without moving, and make the adjustments without us.
- Hair and Makeup is now allowed
- With all the necessary safety precautions of course, and offered as an upgrade if you are interested and comfortable with it.
- Extended session to up to 30 minutes per person
- Ensures less mingling of guests in the space, and to disinfect surfaces if necessary.
- Mask wearing is mandatory in our studio
- Except when you are on set, masks must be worn at all times. We will wear masks as well, except when behind our cameras. Hopefully not a keeper for too much longer.
- Surface Sanitation
- Except when you are on set, masks must be worn at all times. We will wear masks as well, except when behind our cameras. Hopefully not a keeper for too much longer.
If you see any room for improvement, please do let us know and we'll try to implement anything that makes sense.
